With this entry, Designing Magazines turns 100—100 posts that is—since the blog started in spring of 2007. It seem like one shouldn’t make too much of the anniversary (though of course gifts are always appreciated), still a few words are in order. When I started, I had no idea what a Technoratti rating was or that I could care so intently that mine was 36 rather than 34. I didn’t know that I would make close to $17.00 (as yet unpaid) from Google Adsense, or, more importantly, that blogging would be such a great way to come to know so many colleagues in the periodical and design communities. I also never imagined that site would be so personally addictive—and that I would get as much out of blogging as I was putting in. Thanks to everyone who has bought the book, contacted me to chat magazines or design education, or suggested topics for the blog to cover.Designing magazines now has 45,000 monthly page hits, which confirms my feeling before I started that there was a big community of interest in print magazines. Finally, a bit of real business: I have gotten a slew* of requests from readers wishing to be informed via e-mail when there is a new post. There is now a way to do this, Simply click on the register button under “Meta” below, and check the box requesting email notifications. You can unsubscribe or change your preferences at any time. Designing Magazines will never share your name or e-mail unless someone offers us money to do so, er, I mean, unless on rare occasion we feel that there are goods or services that would be of particular interest to our readership…yada yada yada.Seriously, we won’t give out your information, we’re not even sure we would know how.

45 thousand???! Now that’s a lot! Congratulations!
